Because there can be easy access to a multitude of offers, it is easy to understand how one can get distracted, going from one opportunity to the next. If you are not fully paying attention to what you are doing, before you know it, you can be pulled away from what you were initially looking for.
I too have been guilty of relying and hoping that I would find that perfect opportunity on the Internet. I had to stop the nonsense, and get back on track. It can be stressful and confusing when you have so much information to deal with. A good way to minimize and avoid a mental overload is by following these easy steps.
Step 1. Get Your Focus Back
You must remember that "you" will always be your most valuable asset. So when it comes to the "how" you want to make money online, you must consider "you" first.
In my opinion, I feel like when you settle for the opportunities you do not want, or even feel like you must settle because you don't have any other choice, those decisions can hinder you from becoming the best of yourself.
Step 2. Create Your List.
One of the best ways to get to the best opportunities for you, is by starting with the ideas you already have. Write them down because you need to have your own documentation of your thoughts. You can create multiple lists which can be based on:
- List 1 can be based on "What can you do?" The years of experience you have gained can prove to be a valuable resource to reflect back on in the pursuit of creating a lucrative income.
- List 2 can be in reference to "What would you like to do?" Think back to all the different types of jobs {this can also include side jobs} you have had.
Think about:Which of those jobs did you enjoy the most? What made you want to put those jobs ahead of the job you already had or have?
- List 3 can be referring to "What opportunities are you the most interested in?"
- List 4 can be related to: "What is it exactly, you are the most passionate about?"
Step 3: Narrow Down Your Lists.
In my opinion, I believe that when you write down what you want, you are already confirming that this will happen. I also believe that deep within our hearts and minds, we already know what we want. It is the exercise of writing it down, that will bring those positive thoughts about.
By this time you should have some pretty good lists to start with. Each opportunity that you have listed, should be researched and evaluated. This is not a process that you should attempt to do in one day because, it takes time to gather all the information you need. By doing so will help you decide on which opportunities you should pursue.
What to look out for: If any of those offers ask you to give your opinion, rate it, lie about it, or offer you a 2 for 1 deal before you have even seen, tried, or even examined the service or product, RUN! In my opinion, you should want to know all the details about what you are being offered. Then and only then, should you give your opinion, ratings, be truthful about it, or accept any discounts.
Step 4. Don't Quit.
I know it can be tempting to walk out that door and never look back, especially when you are working a job you hate. But, you must think about the financial impact this can have on you. Will quitting your job right now affect the plans you are presently putting into place? Until you start making enough money online to replace that job, stay where you are until you can afford to quit. Think, before you just abandon, any steady income.
Unless you have enough money saved up to cover everything you need for at least 6 months to a year saved up, "Don't quit". Keep your job until your income online has surpassed the income you are making.
The reason I feel that your income online should surpass your present income is because, you need to be well beyond the "paycheck to paycheck status". You need to know that when you quit, there will be no need to go back.
Step 5. Do Your Own Research
Don't get me wrong, I know that it can be very exciting starting something new and I don't want to be the one to dampen that feeling, but... in order to make the best informed decisions about making money online, you must investigate.
By researching each opportunity beforehand, you will find out:
- If this opportunity has the potential to make a decent income? and if so, do you have the time needed in order to replace and surpass your present income?
- What type of work is required of you, and is it the type of work you want to do?
- What are the start-up costs, and are those costs within your price range?
- If you are going to need permits and or licenses. Each state has their own guidelines that should be followed. Check with your state and see what you must do.
- What type of taxes will you be required to pay and if so when will the taxes be due?
As previously stated, these are examples of the type of information you may need.
It is important that you know exactly what is involved regardless of which way you choose to make money online. It is better off being prepared than to be caught off guard by unexpected changes.
Step 6: When To Replace Your Job
If your intention is to replace your job, you should do so when the income from working online has exceeded the income received from your job. Here is another reason why I feel this is an important point. If your existing income is just helping you to make ends meet, wouldn't it benefit you more if you were making twice as much? Think about the money you need to make.
You have to make sure that your trade-off {trading your job for your online income} is putting you in a better position than you were before. Otherwise you will still be struggling to pay your bills. If I am correct, that is not what you want.
Step 7. Make Time To Make Money
Once you have decided on how you want to make money online, the next thing that you can do is to create a schedule. It should be one that is flexible and easy to stick to. You want the type of schedule that can be easily changed when those important matters within your personal life come up.
Examples can be:
- Doctors Appointments
- School Meetings
- Household Repairs
- Auto Repairs
- Family Affairs
- Pet Appointments
- Unexpected Events
After a few weeks have passed, take a look at your schedules from the previous weeks. Take a look from week 1 to the present week you would be in. You will see for yourself, just how far you have come.
