Top 7 Things To Look For In A Debit Card

My credit score has not been the best, and it is something I try not to worry about too much because you can only do what you can, when you can. Sure, it has taken a few hits on more than one occasion on and off over time. I know having a great credit score can be beneficial, but at the same time, my scores are not something I am obsessed with.

There are still a few options out there that you can take advantage of. For instance, you can use debit cards. Why not? You can still use them to pay your bills, make purchases online, and still have access to your money. So how can debit cards be so bad?

Earlier this year, I joined a company called Chime through a referral link. Just in case you are not familiar with Chime, according to their website Chime.com (n.d),

They are a financial technology company founded on the premise that banking services should be helpful, easy and free. We want to profit with our members, not from them. That's why our model does not rely on overdraft fees, monthly service fees, service fees, minimum balance requirements, and more (Chime: About Us, para. 1).

I cannot disagree with Chime because from my experience, Chime has proven each word to be true. So far I haven't had any issues with Chime or the debit card they offer.

I am also a strong believer that banking is much better when you have No Fees! You can save that same amount of money for something else.

Top 7 Things To Look For In A Debit Card

The most important factors that you would want to come with your debit card should be as follows:

1. You want your Debit Card to be Free

With Chime you get a free debit card with your free Chime Checking Account.

2. Your Debit Card should be linked to your bank account. This will give you direct access to your money.

In order to get a Chime VisaⓇ Debit Card, you must apply for a Chime Checking Account first. Don't worry, it's free.

3. No Monthly Fees.

With the Chime Debit Card you will have no monthly fees, overdraft fees, or any international fees to worry about.

4. Access To Over 60,000 In-Network ATMs

You would want to know that you can use an ATM almost anywhere especially if you travel frequently.

5. You Can Get Paid Up to 2 Days Earlier With Direct Deposit

This feature can prove to be useful because there are times when the unexpected can come up. These can be the times when you could use your money the most.

6. A High Yield Savings Account {2.00 Annual Percentage Yield}

A High Yielding Savings Account can be a very nice option to have because you don't always want to spend every dollar you earn. There is nothing wrong with saving for anything you want.

7. Real Time Transaction Alerts

I found this to be a very helpful feature because you will be notified as soon as a bill has been paid and when you have been paid. This will give you instant proof of when each transaction has taken place.

Bonus: Chime Mobile Banking App (available on Google Play)

With this app you do your online banking through your phone. This can make it much easier to check your balances and your accounts. This is a convenient way to take care of your business.

As far as I am concerned, I don't see anything wrong with using debit cards. They eliminate the reasons for carrying cash. Debit cards can also be useful when you want to maintain a certain balance and manage your money. You have more control over your money. All I see are good things in that.

If you want a debit card you can feel more comfortable with, then maybe the Chime VisaⓇ Debit Card might be the card you want.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope it has been insightful and informative. Until next time, Enjoy Loving Your Life.
