Why My Style of Fashion Works
As an African American woman, when I think of fashion, I want to see what it looks like on people who look like me. I am a brown skinned woman. So I want to see how the clothing lays on the body of people who look like and are shaped like me.
I don't see anything wrong with that. I love to see the different styles of clothing on my people because we have our own unique way of styling and creating our own look individually. I think that we are very creative in that way.
I use my style as a way of expressing myself. Most of the time I try going for colors that compliment my skin tone. As a brown skinned toner {brown skinned women}, I also have red undertones. So I would normally choose specific shades of the colors that go well with each other and my skin tone.
My kind of fashion style is what I call "Casually Cute." I prefer the type of casual wear that you can wear in different ways. In my opinion, this is stylish, creative, and very smart because you create a variety of looks. This will always be a win/win in my book.
I like my style of fashion because it is a creative expression of myself.
