Best 10 Spots For Pillow Placement

Throw pillows are the perfect decorative item to add to a variety of spaces.  You don't have to stick with a "one style fits all" when it comes to the style you want to achieve. Because decorative throw pillows can come in all sorts of sizes, patterns, prints, and designs, it can be so easy to get carried away when you are picking them out. That is it is so important to have your list ready before you begin to shop.

It's also a good idea to know ahead of time, where you are going to put all those pretty pillows. This way it will be much easier for you to choose the right colors for your space.

Just in case you needed a few more ideas on where you can place more pillows, I added a short list just below.

The Best 10 Spots To Place Your Pillows

1. Bed
I would suggest no more than four throw pillows in front of the main bed pillows. Try and stick to colors that match the layout colors of your bed. Don't be afraid to use patterns because they too can match up nicely.

2. Arm Chair
Depending on the chairs and their size, you can get a mixture of larger and smaller throw pillows. See how they look in your chairs. This way you can see how you would like to position them

You can have a lot of fun placing throw pillows in your reading nook. Let your creative side come out by using a variety of sizes, colors, and patterns within this space.

4. Loveseat
What's so great about this space is the fact that you can choose the colors you want based on what color your loveseat is. Make sure you look at the surrounding areas within the same space to get a better idea of, which shades of colors would go best with the loveseat as well as the surrounding space.

5. Chaise
This is one of my favorite pieces of furniture, especially if it has a full back. With a longer backed chaise you can place at least six throw pillows on it. If you are going with six pillows, you can also add at least three more colors to enhance the overall look of the space.

6. Hammock
What a comfortable piece to lounge out in. In this case, I would definitely go with at least a throw pillow about 24" x 24", and maybe another pillow about a 12" x 12" in size. I would also make sure that the pillows are just as comfortable as the hammock.

7. Sofa
This is also another one of my favorite pieces of furniture because it just fits so well into just about any living space. Depending on how the back of the sofa is made, you can go with the larger and smaller throw pillows in this area as well. I personally like my throw pillows to go from one end of the sofa to the other end with one pillow slightly in front of the other.

8. Bench
I think that benches are very nice, but I prefer the ones that have arms and are fully backed. I just like that extra support for my back. Because most benches are backless and have no arms on them, the best way to add throw pillows, is to place the bench against a wall and then add the pillows you like. I would definitely go with the 24" x 24" (or bigger) throw pillows. You can also add a layer of smaller pillows to give a more cozy yet comfortable look.

9. Floor
Here's another chance to add some more fun into your home. Because it is the floor you are working with, you can add a mixture of, printed, patterned, and solid colors to this space. Just make sure that the patterns, prints, and solids blend well together with your overall color scheme.

10. Ottoman
I would recommend treating ottomans the same as backless and no-arm benches because, they would have to be placed against a wall or beds with foot-boards. Then you can place throw pillows on them at the end of the beds or they can be propped up against the walls.

Another Tip: Do not be afraid to add throw pillows that are made from different materials. Just make sure they match up well with each other and the over style of the space.

I hope this post has inspired you to come up with even more ways to decorate your space. I found this post to be a lot of fun and I really enjoyed sharing this with you.

Until Next time. Enjoy Loving and Living Life.
